TAVARES, Florida — A woman arrested on traffic violations Wednesday is now facing drug charges after she smuggled methamphetamine into the Lake County Jail.
According to an arrest affidavit, Crystal Faith Musser, 37, of Eustis was arrested early Wednesday morning for driving on a suspended license (habitual offender) and failure to register a motor vehicle. After Musser was booked into the jail, detention deputies received a tip she had drugs.
Detention deputies performed a strip search and found a small bag of methamphetamine wrapped inside her booking sheet in her left breast pocket. Detention deputies searched her cell and her cellmates, but did not find anything else.
A charge of possession of methamphetamine and a charge of introduction of contraband into a correctional facility were added to Musser’s traffic charges. She is being held at the Lake County Jail on $15,000 bond.
