EUSTIS, Florida — Eustis Police Department is investigating a single-vehicle crash that left two teenagers dead and one teenager in critical condition early Sunday morning, according to EPD Cpl. Lauren Brown.
Amari Traemaine Bedford, 14, of Webster was driving the vehicle when it crashed near Getford Road and Hicks Ditch Road at approximately 1:10 a.m., Brown said in a press release. Ny’Juan J. Hodge, 14, of Leesburg was in the front passenger seat and Torian H. Harp, 14, also of Leesburg, was in the rear passenger seat. Bedford and Hodge were pronounced dead on the scene. Harp remains in critical condition at Orlando Regional Medical Center.
Lake Legal News asked numerous questions about the circumstances of the crash, but EPD would not comment early Sunday afternoon.
All three boys attended Lake County schools at one time, sources told LLN. There was a large car show and block party on nearby Bates Avenue Saturday; it is unknown if the crash victims were at the party.
A memorial Facebook post by local musician Cool Montana included photos of the two boys and had been shared at least 74 times at press time.
The crash remains under investigation, Brown said.
