LAKE COUNTY, Florida — Law enforcement executed three separate search warrants Thursday, two in Leesburg and one in Eustis, resulting in the arrests of six people, according to several arrest affidavits.
In Leesburg, the Mid Florida SWAT Team, comprised of law enforcement officers from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office and Leesburg, Clermont, Mount Dora and Groveland Police Departments served a search warrant at 904 Oak Avenue, resulting in the arrest of two people. SWAT team members found numerous pieces of drug paraphernalia, methamphetamine and Fentanyl.
Daniel Hernandez, 23, who first said he was homeless, and Scott Edward Holland, 44, were charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to sell, possession of Fentanyl and possession of drug paraphernalia. Both men are being held at the Lake County Jail on $8,000 bond.
Also in Leesburg, the Mid Florida SWAT Team executed a search warrant at 1221 Osceola Avenue. Again, SWAT team members found methamphetamine and Fentanyl, in addition to heroin. Several pieces of drug paraphernalia were also found, including a spoon with drug residue and a scale.
Clinton Douglas Munn, 47, was charged with possession of Fentanyl, possession of methamphetamine, possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia. He is being held at the Lake County Jail on $10,000 bond. Elizabeth Chardonay Jergens, 32, was charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of Fentanyl and possession of drug paraphernalia. She is being held at the Lake County Jail on $8,000 bond. Steven Paul Spickerman, 44, was charged with possession of methamphetamine will intent to sell; possession of heroin with intent to sell; possession of heroin, possession of legend drug without prescription (Acetaminophen and Hydrocodone Bitartrate) and possession drug paraphernalia. He is being held at the Lake County Jail on $14,000 bond.
In Eustis, LCSO SWAT, along with members of LCSO’s Special Investigations Unit, executed a search warrant at 1021 East Bates Avenue before sunrise Thursday. Upon arrival, deputies found Benjamin Jennings Carroll, 58, in a black pick-up truck in the front yard. He was ordered out of the truck and deputies performed a safety sweep of the home. After finishing the safety sweep, deputies read the warrant to Carroll and searched the residence.
Hidden in several articles of clothing in Carroll’s bedroom, deputies found cocaine and pills, along with paraphernalia in his closet. Carroll was charged with possession of cocaine with intent to sell, possession Hydromorphone with intent to sell and possession of drug paraphernalia. After spending just under seven hours in jail, He was released on $21,000 bond.
