TANGERINE, Florida — The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a crash that killed a pedestrian Wednesday night.
An unidentified male was attempting to cross Orange Blossom Trail (U.S. Highway 441) near Dudley Avenue, a little over 3 miles from the Lake County line, when he was struck and killed by an SUV being driven by a 22-year-old Kissimmee woman shortly before 8 p.m. Wednesday, according to FHP Lt. Kim Montes. The man was transported to AdventHealth Waterman in Tavares, where he later died. The woman was not injured.
“Troopers are still attempting to make a positive identification on the pedestrian,” Montes said in a press release.
The crash is under investigation.
