PAISLEY, Florida – Two Paisley residents are facing charges of filing a false police report in separate but similar incidents after each told deputies they lied about being battered by their partners.
Brandon Lane, 22, was arrested late Wednesday night after he told a Lake County Sheriff’s deputy – the same deputy who took Lane’s original report – he lied about a domestic battery in retaliation for his girlfriend cheating on him.
Lane was transported to the Lake County Jail and released Thursday on $1,000 bond.
Earlier Wednesday afternoon, the same deputy who took both reports involving Lane, arrested another Paisley resident for the same charge. Theresa Stout, 48, told the deputy she was “not accurate” and misled law enforcement to believe a crime took place when she told him multiple times she was the victim of a felony battery and wanted to prosecute.
Stout was taken to the Lake County Jail where she is being held on $1,000 bond.
