LADY LAKE, Florida — The Lake County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the shooting death of a 12-year-old boy, according to LCSO Lt. John Herrell.
LCSO deputies responded to a residence at 5445 Singletary Road in Lady Lake around 9 a.m. Monday and found Jeremyah Wyatt dead in the home, Herrell said in a press release Monday afternoon.
Jeremyah lived in the home with his father, stepmother and three siblings, the release states.
Unsecured firearms were found in the home and detectives have not ruled out an accident, Herrell said. They do not suspect any family members shot the boy.
