CLERMONT, Florida — A 20-year-old man who claimed he was acting on a dare from a friend on Snapchat was arrested for lewd and lascivious exhibition Monday.
Shortly after 4 p.m. Monday, a Lake County Sheriff’s deputy responded the Ashton Chase Apartments in Clermont on a report of a naked man. A victim told the deputy she and her juvenile son were riding with her brother on Glennbrook Boulevard early Saturday morning when she saw a man, later identified as Ivan Riley Butcher, who was completely naked, according to an arrest affidavit. Butcher was standing in an opening in the bushes near CF Fitness without a shirt, pants around his ankles and his penis exposed. The victim’s brother got out of the vehicle and began to yell at Butcher, who put his clothes on and began running. The victim’s brother got back into the vehicle and began videoing Butcher running through the plaza until they lost sight of him.
The deputy spoke with employees of the Ashton Chase Apartment complex who told the deputy they located Butcher in an apartment on the premises. They said they did not have identification for Butcher because he was staying with a female and was not listed on the lease.
The deputy made contact with Butcher and after being read his Miranda rights, he told the deputy he was “dared” by a friend on Snapchat to take all his clothes off in a public area, the affidavit states. Butcher told the deputy he was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Butcher was taken into custody and transported to the Lake County Jail where he was released on $10,000 bond.
