MOUNT DORA, Florida — A Mount Dora man has been charged with stalking and criminal mischief after being accused of sending threatening texts and breaking the bedroom window of a woman he dated for just a month.
Mount Dora Police responded to an apartment on Veranda Way in the early morning hours of Aug. 30 on a report of a broken window, according to a probable cause affidavit.
The victim told MDPD she was in the shower, and an unidentified acquaintance was in her bedroom when her window was broken and she believed it was Travontae Shavar Harley, 31.
The victim said she dated Harley for about a month and after she broke it off, Harley continued to text and call her repeatedly for two weeks, even though she told him to stop. The victim blocked Harley’s number and he began calling her from a different number, in addition to knocking on her door and loitering around her apartment, the affidavit states.
The victim showed MDPD texts from Harley that included, [Expletive] make u lose ur apt tonight rs selfish AF [expletive] n cold hearted CANT NOBODY STOP ME NOT U HIM FAMILY OR TROLL,” another text is alleged to have stated, “ON GOD SUM TIME TONIGHT UR [EXPLETIVE] GETTING BUSSED OUT I’M GIVING YOU HEADS UP SO DON’T PUT MAGIC BY WINDOW RS ON GOD ENOUGH SAID WANNA PLAY WITH A [EXPLETIVE] HEART [EXPLETIVE.]”
Harley was not on scene when police arrived, and a warrant was issued for his arrest the day of the incident. He was picked up by Tavares Police Department Friday and is being held in the Lake County Jail on $10,500 bond.
