LEESBURG, Florida — A Leesburg woman is in the Lake County Jail facing charges of leaving the scene of a crash with property damage and driving with a suspended license.
Jade Krystal Larson, 26, is accused crashing into Florida Fountain and Lawn Ornaments, 1815 U.S. Highway 441 Leesburg, leaving the bumper to the Mercedes Benz she was driving at the scene, and fleeing the scene around 4:30 p.m. Sunday.
According to an arrest affidavit, a witness told a Leesburg Police officer they saw a white female driving a Mercedes Benz collide with the building and the bumper fall off the vehicle. A male in the passenger seat fled the area on foot and the witness made contact with Larson. She told the witness she was going to Bushnell in Sumter County and left the scene; the witness provided police with the vehicle’s license plate information and officers began canvassing the area.
Police located the Mercedes Benz in Okahumpka with Larson inside and she told police she was aware of the crash and the damage to the business and fled the scene to get away from her boyfriend. Larson told police she did not have a driver license because it was suspended; dispatch advised Larson’s license was canceled indefinitely in 2018, revoked indefinitely for DUI in 2017 and suspended for financial responsibilities.
Larson was taken to the Lake County Jail and has since been released on $10,500 bond.
