EUSTIS, Florida — Eustis Police Department has identified the man found in Lake Eustis Thursday.
Dustin Renaux, 43, was found in the water, near the Eustis Community Center, 601 Northshore Drive and was spotted by a passerby utilizing the Eustis Lake Walk, shortly before 4:30 p.m., EPD Cpl. Lauren Brown told Lake Legal News on scene Thursday.
“The complainant was on the lake walk and saw the subject in the water and called 911,” Brown said.
Police had to wait several hours for the medical examiner to come to the scene and remove the body from the water and LLN was on scene as they arrived. The cause of death is unknown, and police are currently awaiting the M.E.’s findings.
Renaux was reported missing around 7:20 p.m. Thursday, EPD Officer J. Allred said in a press release.
The case remains under investigation; if you have information, call EPD at (352)483-5400.
This is the second body found in Lake Eustis this year. In February, during the city’s annual Georgefest the body of Maurice Akeem-Vonche McCook, 31, was found by a passerby near Ferran Park. He accidentally drowned.
