GROVELAND, Florida — Lake County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating the death of a man found in the trunk of a burnt vehicle Saturday morning, according to LCSO Lt. Fred Jones.
LCSO received a call at 9:15 a.m. reporting a gas can on fire next to a white SUV at the intersection of Honeycutt Road and Tuscanooga Road in unincorporated Groveland and a black male running from the scene, Jones said in an email.
Deputies and the fire department responded to the scene and found fire damage inside the vehicle and upon searching the vehicle found a black male dead in the trunk. Detectives are currently investigating.
