LEESBURG, Florida – A 16-year-old Leesburg High School student who told deputies he tracked his victim’s cell phone so he could locate her if anything happened to her, was arrested Thursday for stalking, false imprisonment and battery, according to an arrest report.
The juvenile victim told deputies the suspect was, “very controlling and dictates what type of clothing she wears and who she associates with,” during the course of their relationship, which lasted more than a year. She told deputies during the relationship, the suspect somehow hacked into her home video surveillance system and called her, making reference to things she was doing. She further alleged the suspect also hacked into her cell phone – gaining access to both her camera and microphone. Lake Legal News is not identifying the suspect due to his age.
When questioned, the suspect told deputies he was capable of tracking her old phone with an app and he only did it so he could find her if something happened to her.
When the victim ended her relationship with the suspect at school Monday, he dragged her down the hallway by her hoodie and refused to let her go, despite multiple pleas from the victim.
The suspect later told the victim’s friend he was, “going to chain the victim to the fence and cut her,” states the report. He told another witness he, “wanted to tie the juvenile victim up and slice her body,” the report states. He asked the same witness if she knew where to get a gun. The victim told police the suspect has shown her knives before and keeps a knife in his backpack when he comes to school. In the past, the suspect has allegedly threatened to shoot himself in the head on Facetime and Snapchat videos while holding a gun.
The suspect was searched for weapons with negative results. When he was questioned about Monday’s incident, he admitted to the school resource deputy he did grab the victim’s hoodie because he wanted to know why she was breaking up with him. It was in that interview the suspect told the SRD why and how he tracked her phone. The suspect was arrested and turned over to his parents.
