LEESBURG, Florida – Leesburg police are investigating a crash that killed a pedestrian Saturday night, and shut down a major highway for three hours.
Just after 9 p.m., police responded to U.S. Highway 27, near the intersection of Picciola Road to the crash that killed Stewart Pantall, 56, of Leesburg, said Leesburg Police Capt. Joe Iozzi in a press release.
Police believe Pantall walked into the path of a 2003 Dodge Dakota being driven by Robert Michael Wallace, 28, also of Leesburg. Pantall was taken to Leesburg Regional Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.
