LEESBURG, Florida – The Florida Highway Patrol is working a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of CR 452 and Emeralda Island Road that killed one person, FHP Lt. Kim Montes told Lake Legal News in an email.
One vehicle ran a stop sign and struck another vehicle, killing the female passenger just before 8:45 p.m. Saturday. This is the second crash at that intersection in five days.
Police have not released her identity, pending notification of next of kin.
This is a developing story, as the crash remains under investigation.
