LEESBURG, Florida — The Lake County Sheriff’s Office has identified the elderly woman who it says was murdered by her elderly husband Friday.
Deputies responded to 33012 Pennbrooke Parkway, Leesburg, shortly after 7 a.m. Friday in response to 9-1-1 hang-up call and found 74-year-old Joyce Reynolds dead from gunshot wounds. Her husband, Morris Reynolds, 75, was found with a self-inflicted gunshot wound and airlifted to Ocala Regional Medical Center.
“It appears as though this is likely the result of a domestic dispute between the two,” LCSO Lt. John Herrell said in an email Friday morning.
Morris Reynolds is still being treated for his injuries and detectives have obtained a warrant for his arrest for second-degree murder, said LCSO Sgt. Fred Jones.
