MOUNT DORA, Florida — A woman took her own life in the parking lot of Mount Dora Police Department early Saturday morning, according to the city’s spokesperson, Lisa McDonald.
Shortly before 1:30 a.m. Saturday, Nicole Curley, 46, a resident of the city, drove to the parking lot of MDPD, 1300 North Donnelly Street and shot herself, McDonald said in a press release. MDPD officers responded to the scene and rendered aid, and Curley was transported to AdventHealth Waterman, where she was pronounced dead.
This is the second suicide in a public place in the Golden Triangle in just eight days. Just before 9 a.m. Oct.16, an employee of the Lake County Supervisor of Elections Office, 1898 East Burleigh Boulevard, Tavares, shot himself at work, Tavares Police Lt. Sarah Coursey told Lake Legal News last week.
