CLERMONT, Florida — A Clermont woman went to work Saturday and left in a police car after her coworker said she slapped her.
Around 7:30p.m.Saturday, Clermont Police arrived at Steak ‘n Shake, 2345 East Highway 50, Clermont on a report of an altercation between two employees. The juvenile victim, a server, told police she approached her coworker, Layla Kaye Sentowski, 36, who was seating customers to tell her she was being given more tables than she could manage, according to an arrest affidavit.
Sentowski told the girl, “Get the [expletive] out of my face or I’ma smack you,” the affidavit states. The victim continued to stand where she was and Sentowski allegedly slapped her in the face with an open palm. The pair got into a physical altercation and coworkers split them up. Sentowski was able to get around her coworkers and hit the victim again, causing another altercation.
Coworkers split the two up a second time and the victim walked away while Sentowski yelled she “wasn’t scared’ of her and walked into the office. The victim’s face was red and her bottom lip appeared to be swollen and purple, the arresting officer noted in the affidavit.
Sentowski was charged with simple battery and taken to the Lake County Jail. She was released just a few hours later on $1,000 bond.
