CLERMONT, Florida — Clermont Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a hit-and-run driver who killed a longtime Clermont resident over the weekend.
Around 6:15 p.m. Saturday, Dianne Craig, 74, was struck in the area of State Road 50 and Grand Highway, according to a press release by CPD. Police arrived and found Craig lying in the road; she was transported first to South Lake Hospital and later to Orlando Regional Medical Center where she died from her injuries.
The driver who struck Craig fled the scene before officers arrived, the release states. The vehicle is described as a dark-colored passenger car with frontend damage and was last seen eastbound on State Road 50.
Craig, who worked at a local restaurant, leaves behind two daughters, a stepdaughter, nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
