MINNEOLA, Florida — A woman who left two children unattended at a bar for more than two hours after running up a bar tab of more than $100 was arrested for child neglect Friday, according to an arrest affidavit.
A Lake County Sheriff’s deputy responded to Tiki Bar, 508 South Main Avenue, Minneola after receiving a call about two minor children who had been left unattended at the bar for more than two hours. The children, whose ages are not listed in the arrest affidavit, “appeared to be going through a dramatic level of mental anguish and physically shaking,” the arresting deputy noted in the affidavit.
The children told the deputy Tina Marie Noyes, 45, of Nokomis told them she was going to the bathroom and had been gone for “some time.” Noyes’ relationship to the children is unknown. LCSO found Noyes in the parking lot and she said she was in town visiting friends for Thanksgiving and came to the bar to eat and have drinks.
Noyes, who was “heavily intoxicated” and smelled of alcohol, said she met up with an old friend from school and went out to the car and hung out for a while, but failed to tell the children or the bar staff, the affidavit states.
Noyes was arrested for two counts of child neglect and transported to the Lake County Jail where she was released Saturday on $8,000 bond.
