GROVELAND, Florida – Agents from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement Cyber Crimes Task Force served a search warrant at a Groveland man’s home at 660 Black Eagle Drive Wednesday and he told them he had more than 100 images of child pornography on his smart phone, according to an arrest affidavit.
FDLE agents questioned Frankie Pineiro, 22, about an email address and a Discord account, and reportedly he first told agents he was not familiar with them. Discord is a cross-platform chat app for text, video and voice comms, designed for gamers, according to a description on the Discord app. Pineiro then told agents he knew their investigation was about child pornography, according to the arrest report. He claimed he was using Discord to collect child pornography for law enforcement and he was going to turn over his findings to law enforcement once he collected 14,000 images. He later admitted to collecting the files for personal reason, the report stated.
Pineiro told agents he collected images depicting children from 2 to 17 years old. Agents found two images on his phone that contained children all under 12 years old and one as young as 4 years old, according to the report.
FDLE requested special conditions on his bond, including no contact with any person less than 18 years of age, no internet access and no possession of any device with access to the internet.
Pineiro was released from the Lake County Jail Thursday on $20,000 bond.
