LEESBURG, Florida — A Leesburg man is facing a felony battery charge after he threw a woman to the ground and broke her ankle in three places, according to an arrest affidavit.
Leesburg Police responded to a Nov. 20 call about a battery just after 11:30 p.m., on Berwick Drive. The officer immediately noticed golf-ball sized swelling to the victim’s left ankle and blood coming from a cut on one of her left toes. The victim — visibly shaken and crying — told the officer she heard a commotion coming from her front yard and when she went outside to check she saw Kirrion Marquise Bodison, 19, punching her daughter, who was lying on the ground in a fetal position, according to the affidavit.
The victim yelled for Bodison to stop. Allegedly he stopped but then picked up a tablet off the ground and began to break it. Her daughter got up, ran towards to driveway and fell. According to the report, Bodison stood over her and began to beat her again. The victim tried to get in between them and Bodison told her he would kill her, the affidavit states. She refused to move and Bodison grabbed her by the shirt and threw her to the ground.
The victim told police she heard a loud pop and crawled back to her house as Bodison pushed her daughter in a vehicle and drove away. Leesburg Police officers searched for the suspect with no success. They were able to reach the victim’s daughter by phone, but she was uncooperative, the officer noted in the report. The victim was transported by Lake EMS to the hospital and treated for her injuries.
Bodison was arrested early Wednesday morning and charged with aggravated battery resulting in great bodily harm. He was released from the Lake County Jail on $5,000 bond.
