MASCOTTE, Florida – Luis Angel Ramos Reyes, 33, remains in the Lake County Jail today on a battery charge, carrying a $1,000 bond. The Mascotte Police Department arrested Reyes Sept. 29 for allegedly punching his ex-wife in the lip as the woman’s juvenile daughter stood beside her.
According to police, while the victim was visiting her ex-husband (with whom she has a child) “Luis told Yolanda that he would give her money for her daughter, but proceeded to insult her and ask about what he thought was a ‘hickey’ on her neck and stated that he wasn’t going to give her money because she apparently had a new man. Yolanda stated that Luis proceeded to move towards Yolanda and punch her in the lip causing an abrasion to her bottom lip.”
Upon arrival Police found Reyes asleep in his home and arrested him. The victim had reported to police “that this isn’t the first time an incident like this has happened which is why they have been separated and living in different homes for the past few months.”
