LEESBURG, Florida – Police today arrested Taylor Nicole Thompson, 22, for misdemeanor battery, indicating in the arrest report that an allegation of domestic ‘cheating’ may lie at the heart of the violence.
Leesburg police responded to a public parking garage location shortly after 1 a.m. this morning and received a report from the alleged victim who advised police that he had “told his girlfriend (Ms. Taylor Thompson), hereby referred to as the defendant, she needed to move out of their place. The victim told the defendant he knew she was cheating on him and that is why he wanted her to move out.” According to the report, “[t]he victim advised when they arrived at the defendant’s vehicle, the defendant grabbed the victim’s throat and began punching the victim. The victim advised the defendant was acting erratic, flailing her arms at the victim and scratching the victim.” It is claimed that Thompson ceased her attack and fled in her vehicle when the victim stated he was calling the police. (When police arrived, the victim had scratches to his chest and back, and his neck was bleeding.)
After being contacted by phone, Thompson agreed to meet with police, whereupon she was arrested. “This incident is domestic in nature,” the report concludes, “due to the victim and defendant’s sexual relationship and the fact that the two have lived together for one month.”
