ORANGE COUNTY, Florida — A 17-year-old Eustis girl was killed in a head-on crash Wednesday morning near Sorrento, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
A 47-year-old man of Sorrento was driving a pickup truck southbound on Plymouth-Sorrento Road when he traveled into the northbound lane for an unknown reason, FHP Lt. Kim Montes said in a press release. The truck struck an SUV head-on, being driven by a 17-year-old girl of Eustis.
The girl was transported to AdventhHealth Apopka, where she later died, Montes said. The driver of the truck received minor injuries; both drivers were wearing their seatbelts.
The crash remains under investigation.
