PAISLEY, Florida — A man accused of threatening his girlfriend with a gun and a knife, punching her and cutting her hair off with clippers is being held in the Lake County Jail on $35,000 bond.
Jonathan Craig Rollason-Elliot was arrested by Lake County Sheriff’s deputies Saturday after his girlfriend told them a physical altercation had been escalating since Feb 23 when he threw a knife at her, according to an arrest affidavit.
The victim told LCSO Rollason-Elliot showed up at a house she was having dinner at and threw a knife at her, cutting her finger as she held her hand up to shield herself. The cut left a scar that was still visible nearly a month later, the arrest affidavit states. The woman said Rollason-Elliot hit her in the face on multiple occasions, the most recent being at noon Friday.
The victim was outside at a residence when Rollason-Elliot pulled up and exited his vehicle with a 9mm handgun. He walked up to the vehicle near her and busted out the windshield and then pointed the gun at her and threatened to kill her. Rollason-Elliot dragged her to his home at gunpoint and struck her in the hands with the gun before punching her in the face several times. Her face was swollen, and she had two black eyes, the arresting deputy noted in the affidavit. After punching the woman in the face, Rollason-Elliot used clippers to cut her hair, according to the affidavit.
After Rollason-Elliot was distracted, the victim escaped and called for help. She told the deputy she did not report the earlier incidents because she was afraid.
Deputies questioned Rollason-Elliot and he admitted punching her in the face. He was arrested for aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and transported to the Lake County Jail.
