TAVARES, Florida — Several law enforcement agencies have set up a perimeter in search of a gunman near Rosewood Apartments, off Dead River Road, according to Tavares Police Department.
More than 20 law enforcement officers are on scene after shots were fired in the complex, just after 6:15 p.m.; no one was injured, TPD Lt. Sarah Coursey told Lake Legal News.
“Tavares Police Department, Astatula Police Department and the Lake County Sheriff’s Office have the perimeter locked down and are searching for the suspect,” Coursey told LLN Wednesday night. Police have identified the accused gunman as Isiah McNealy, and are urging him to turn himself in.
Police are asking residents to stay inside, stay away from windows and to lock their doors.
This is a developing story.
