LEESBURG, Florida — A man in a polyamorous relationship with two women who are both pregnant, is in the Lake County Jail on $15,000 bond after being accused of choking and battering one of them in October.
On Friday, two women, who are both in a relationship with and pregnant by Jovanni Lebron, went to Leesburg Police Department and reported that Lebron had battered and choked one of them last month when she tried to break off the relationship. The victim, who is seven months pregnant, told police on Oct. 12, she sent a text message to a friend and said she did not want to be with Lebron because it was causing problems between him and her family. Later the same day, she got into an argument with Lebron because she was not speaking loudly enough when she told Lebron she wanted to end the relationship.
She said Lebron grabbed her ring finger and bent it back nearly breaking it while telling her, “If you don’t speak up, I’ll break your finger,” according to the arrest affidavit. Lebron then began choking her and told her if she left, she “would not be alive.” The victim sat down and Lebron stepped on her toes and reportedly said, “Why does he have to proceed with torture tactics to get me to talk to get me to say I am a liar?
Later, the trio were traveling to Ocala when they stopped for gas in Sumter County. The victim paid for the gas and Lebron asked for her phone. He found several text messages, including the one she sent to her friend stating she wanted to end the relationship with Lebron. Lebron became angry and backhanded the victim, who was sitting in the backseat, and called her names. He said he would beat her to death, she told police, Lebron then pulled over and began beating her. He picked up his paycheck and later dropped her off at her home.
Lebron was arrested for aggravated battery on a pregnant victim and domestic battery by strangulation at his home in Leesburg Tuesday and transported to the Lake County Jail. At the time of his arrest, he was out on bond for the same two charges involving a different female, the arresting officer noted in the affidavit.
