LEESBURG, Florida — Leesburg Police Department is investigating a crash that killed a man Monday night.
Shortly after 10 p.m. LPD responded to a crash involving a pedestrian at U.S. Highway 441 and Griffin Road, LPD Capt. Joe Iozzi told Lake Legal News in an email.
Police believe the 54-year old man was attempting to cross U.S. Highway 441 when he walked into the path of a 2005 Chevy pickup being driven by 18-year-old Patrick B. Holmes Jr., of Leesburg. The man was transported to UF Health Leesburg, where he died, Iozzi said. His name has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
