FRUITLAND PARK, Florida — A woman who walked past a Lake County Sheriff’s deputy with a methamphetamine-filled syringe in her hand at a known drug house is in the Lake County Jail on $5,000 bond.
On Thursday, LCSO deputies were investigating a battery complaint at a “known drug house” on Trudy Road in Fruitland Park when Yvette Dayle Carpenter, 42, walked past a deputy with a loaded syringe, according to an arrest affidavit.
The deputy grabbed Carpenter by the wrist, and she dropped the syringe and stomped on it, bending the needle, but not breaking it. Carpenter was secured and the liquid in the syringe field tested positive for methamphetamine.
Carpenter claimed her boyfriend was insulin-dependent and she, “shoots him up with it,” the affidavit states. Her boyfriend contradicted her and told the deputy he was not insulin dependent and no one at the home, including Carpenter, could tell the deputy where the insulin could be found.
While being transported to LCJ, Carpenter called the arresting deputy derogatory names and insulted his “manhood,” according to the affidavit.Carpenter was charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of paraphernalia and tampering with evidence.
