UMATILLA, Florida — A 39-year-old Orlando woman was struck and killed as she walked northbound on State Road 19 Saturday night, said FHP Lt. Kim Montes.
The woman, who is not being identified by FHP, was walking with another person on State Road 19 near Lake Smith Road around 8 p.m. when she was struck by a northbound sedan being driven by a 29-year-old Eustis man.
The woman was pronounced dead on the scene.
“At this time, it remains under investigation as to whether the crash occurred in the travel lane or on the shoulder,” Montes said in a press release.
