MOUNT DORA, Florida — A 21-year-old man who licked a police officer and said it “tastes good,” is facing a felony charge of battery on a law enforcement officer.
A Mount Dora Police officer was investigating a theft from a local business when a man was spotted matching the suspect’s description on Highland Street. The officer approached Denzel Wilson who said he was going home and did not have to speak with the officer. The officer asked for identification and Wilson said he did not have any; he said his name was Daniel and gave the officer a social security number that belonged to a female, according to an arrest affidavit.
A second officer arrived on scene and when they attempted to take Wilson into custody, “[he] tensed up, balled up his fists and attempted to run from us,” the affidavit states. Wilson was taken down and placed into handcuffs. A third officer arrived on scene, helped Wilson up and and placed his hand on Wilson’s shoulder.
Wilson then licked the officer and the officer asked, “Did you lick me?” Wilson laughed and said, ”Yes, it tastes good.” Wilson was positively identified and taken to the Lake County Jail. Wilson is charged with battery on a law enforcement officer, resisting an officer without violence and giving a false name to a law enforcement officer. He is being held on $7,000 bond.
