LAKE COUNTY, Florida — A Tavares woman is dead following a crash on Florida’s Turnpike Thursday morning, according to Florida Highway Patrol Lt. Kim Montes.
Brian Lucas, 30, of Melbourne was northbound on the Florida’s Turnpike near mile marker 277, in a 2013 Chevy Suburban when he lost control for an unknown reason, struck a guardrail, traveled over the guardrail and struck the left front of a 2008 Chrysler Sebring, being driven by Rosalie Sierra, 44, of Tavares. Sierra was pronounced dead on the scene, Montes said in a press release.
Lucas received minor injuries and charges are pending against him. The crash remains under investigation.
