CLERMONT, Florida — A Clermont woman who was outside a local restaurant yelling a racial slur was charged with disturbing the peace and resisting arrest without violence Monday.
Shortly after 9:30 p.m. Clermont Police responded near the area of Popeye’s, 16530 State Road 50, Clermont in reference to a 9-1-1 hang-up call. An officer spotted Kimberly Jean Vock, 39, pacing around the back parking lot of Popeye’s screaming a racial slur to everyone in the parking lot and toward the restaurant, causing multiple people to come outside, an arrest affidavit states.
The officer told Vock to stop shouting and she began to yell “tase me,” multiple times; the officer told her he was not going to tase her, but she needed to stop using profanity and stop causing a disturbance. Vock continued to shout the racial slur and the arresting officer, with the help of a second officer, attempted to take Vock into custody. Vock struggled with the officers and tried to break free, but they were able to place her into handcuffs.
Vock told police her ex-boyfriend worked at Popeye’s, had her vehicle and she wanted it back; she told police which vehicle was hers and dispatch confirmed Vock was the sole registered owner, according to the affidavit. Police spoke with her ex-boyfriend, who told them he had permission to use the vehicle and had been sleeping in it. He first refused to turn the vehicle over and said he would rather burn it and go to jail. The officer advised he would be arrested if he carried out his threats and he handed over the keys to police.
Vock was transported to the Lake County South Substation and while there she told police her ex-boyfriend had raped her for eight hours a few days prior. Police questioned her about the rape and she was “very vague,” the affidavit states. The officer explained to Vock that if she was making false statements she could possibly be charged. Vock told the officer she no longer trusted him and her statement about the rape was no longer true.
Vock was released on $2,000 bond.
