TAVARES, Florida — Four members of an all-female retail theft ring from Tampa are behind bars after police say they stole thousands of dollars worth of high-end perfume.
Lady Lake Police responded to Ulta, 460 North U.S. Highway 27, Lady Lake on a retail theft complaint. Store employees advised several females entered the store and two of them had been involved in a prior theft of perfume at the store on Dec. 31, according to an arrest affidavit. Two of the women, later identified as Jessica Fisher, 31, and Terrinque Qugeria Parker, 26, were captured on video filling up a bag with perfume bottles valued at $100 or more, while Millena M. Dumas, 36, and Marcia Shonte Conley, 25, tried to distract store employees.
The women exited the store with the bag of perfume and left in a white Toyota Corolla.
Later, the suspects went to Kohl’s, 2700 East Burleigh Blvd., Tavares where they were recognized by loss prevention officers from a prior theft. There, they attempted to steal more bottles of perfume, the affidavit states. Tavares Police officers arrived on scene while the women were selecting merchandise and they abandoned it and fled the store. Officers detained the suspects and found Parker and Fisher had active warrants for retail theft in Sarasota County.
A Lake County deputy on scene with the suspects sent Lady Lake Police photographs of the suspects, who were still wearing the same clothes, and they were positively identified at the suspects in the Ulta theft. A search of the suspects’ vehicle found numerous bottles of perfume that matched the items stolen from Ulta. Merchandise from a Kohl’s store was also found.
The foursome was charged with racketeering and grand theft. Fisher, Parker and Dumas are being held at the Lake County Jail on $35,000 bond. Conley is being held on $15,000 bond.
