EUSTIS, Florida — Eustis Police Department is investigating two drive-by shootings that targeted the same apartment, just one week apart.
Around 8 p.m. Friday, police responded to a report of shots fired at apartment 42 in Tall Pines Villas, 1000 Wall Street, Eustis. Witnesses told police they heard five to six shots and saw an unidentified vehicle flee the area at a high rate of speed, said Eustis Police Officer Lauren Brown.
No one was injured in the shooting and police believe the bullets struck the building. “Multiple shell casings were recovered,” Brown said.
On Dec. 27, the same apartment was targeted shortly before 6 a.m., Brown said, but police were not called until 6:46 a.m. In that shooting, multiple shots were fired; the building was struck, along with windows in both apartment 42 and apartment 41, “Apartment 41 is vacant,” Brown said. No one was injured.
If you have information on either shooting, call Eustis Police at 352-357-4121 or Crimeline at 1-800-423-TIPS(8477.)
