TAVARES, Florida — A man’s decision to moon some motel guests and slap his backside resulted in a trip to jail Sunday afternoon.
Around 1:30 p.m. Sunday, a Tavares Police sergeant responded to Inn on the Green, 700 East Burleigh Blvd., Tavares in reference to a guest requesting a supervisor. Terrell Antwaun Hawk, 24, told the sergeant he felt like motel staff was treating him unfairly and admitted to an argument with staff where profanity was exchanged, according to an arrest affidavit.
Police spoke with staff and Hawk and it was decided he would be trespassed and leave the hotel. He was told he could attempt to get a refund through the online booking system, he presumably used. Police told him to go to his room and retrieve his belongings, the affidavit states. On his return from the room, some guests said he got into an argument with them and committed a lewd act. He made a hand gesture, pulled down his pants, bent over and slapped his behind in front of the family, including a six-year-old boy and a 4-year-old girl.
Hawk denied the allegations to police and they pulled the motel surveillance video. The video clearly shows Hall give the family his middle finger and expose his backside. Hall was not wearing undergarments, the sergeant noted. The sergeant asked the children’s mother if they saw the lewd act and the mother said the boy did not, but the 4-year-old girl said, “I seen his butt.”
Hall was charged with lewd or lascivious exhibition in the presence of a victim less than 16 years of age. He is being held at the Lake County Jail on $5,000 bond.
