EUSTIS, Florida — An anonymous tip resulted in the arrest of a 16-year-old Eustis High School student Monday.
The Eustis High School resource deputy received a tip a 16-year-old boy recorded and distributed a video of two students having sex, according to an arrest report. Lake Legal News is not naming the suspect due to his age.
The SRD questioned the boy, who said he knew about the video, but was not present at the time it was recorded. However, when the SRD questioned the 16-year-old boy in the video, he admitted the suspect was present and may have made the video of him having sex with the middle school girl.
The SRD questioned the suspect a second time and he did admit he was there and took the video, but denied he sent it to anyone. He told the deputy, “someone must have gotten it from his phone and sent it to themselves,” the affidavit states.
The boy was charged with promoting a sexual performance by a child and released to the custody of his parents.
